HDA is seeking a full-time, board-certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to immediately service an established base of medical dermatology patients. Located in beautiful Lafayette, Louisiana in a new state-of-the-art facility, candidates should have a minimum of 2-5 years of medical dermatology experience with acne, rosacea, psoriasis, and skin cancer checks. Aesthetic experience is preferred, but not required. The practice is offering an attractive base salary and benefits, with an additional incentive compensation plan.
Position Responsibilities
We are looking for a seasoned, board-certified NP/PA-C with special expertise in Dermatology. A professional who is passionate about serving others by working with a team to provide and support the foremost excellence in Dermatology, skin care, and aesthetics. All candidates must have EMR experience, and be available to work from 8am to 5pm Monday through Thursday, 8am to 2:30pm on Fridays, and a few after-hours events.
Essential Duties
- Assess patient health status including state of wellness, compliance with care plan, and determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Provide acute and chronic patient care including taking medical histories, monitoring therapies, giving injections, and medications
- Document clinical information and care provided in patient record
- Demonstrate positive and effective verbal communication skills with patients, families, and coworkers
- Educate patients and families appropriately
- Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Adhere to practice standards and PA-C/NP code of ethics
- Utilize and conduct appropriate research for Dermatology
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited PA or NP program

This front-line role is critical to the patient experience, handling high-volume phone support, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, medical coding, and checkout for both medical and cosmetic patients.
Position Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments and provide high-volume phone answering support
- Code healthcare claims (CPT and ICD-10) to obtain reimbursement from insurance companies and government programs
- Verify insurance eligibility and process patient payments at checkout
- Maintain and update patient Electronic Medical Records
- Read and analyze patient records with thorough understanding of medical terminology
- Check out medical and cosmetic patients with accurate billing
- Develop knowledge of aesthetic products and services offered by the practice
- Maintain patient confidentiality, including HIPAA and practice-specific compliance guidelines

Qualifications
