Facelift

When the skin on your face starts to sag, it can make you look years older than you are. A facelift helps reduce this process by tightening and lifting up sagging areas of tissue so they’re less noticeable in appearance while also helping smooth out folds around facial features like mouth corners!

What is a Facelift

The traditional facelift is designed to refresh and revitalize the lower two-thirds of your face including around jawline. It will tighten underlying facial muscles, creating more youthful structure which supports features over time if additional cosmetic issues such as fat volume loss are present too; this treatment can be combined with facial fat transfer procedures or dermal filler placement, depending on your individual needs.

FAQ's

Is a facelift procedure right for me?

The answer to this question varies based on the individual. Fortunately, Dr. Paige Kennedy takes a personalized approach to facelift surgery, and she performs an extensive evaluation to determine if a patient is a good candidate for surgery. If a patient qualifies for a facelift, Dr. Kennedy teaches them about the procedure and ensures this individual feels confident about treatment. Or, if Dr. Kennedy determines facelift surgery won’t necessarily help a patient accomplish their facial rejuvenation goals, she offers alternative treatments.

What should I expect during a facelift consultation?

Dr. Kennedy allocates significant time and resources to ensure a patient is fully prepared for a facelift. First, he conducts a patient consultation. At this time, Dr. Kennedy analyzes a patient’s facial features and learns about this individual’s medical history and treatment goals. Next, Dr. Kennedy will custom tailor a treatment plan to address the individual’s specific anatomy to ensure the best possible result. Once Dr. Kennedy and the patient agree on a plan, you may schedule surgery.

Will a facelift make me look stretched?

The short answer is no. In the early days of facial plastic surgery, the standard technique used was to pull the skin back, trim off the excess and then close the incisions. Modern plastic surgery techniques have advanced tremendously. Today we are using sophisticated methods of lifting and tightening underlying muscle, and restoring lost volume for a more natural looking outcome.

How long will it take to fully recover from a facelift?

Every patient heals at a different rate and younger patients generally heal faster than older patients. Patients go through stages of healing. The first stage lasts about 10 days. During this time swelling will increase up to the fourth day and then begin to disappear. From 10 days to 14 days, most patients find that the swelling and bruising have decreased to the point that social and work activities can be resumed. From 3 weeks to 6 months, healing continues until the final results are fully achieved. In most patients, 90% of the final result will be visible after 3 months.
